This useful course will teach you how to gather information and resources in order to locate lost objects of any size. You will learn how to carefully plan and execute a search and recovery dive using various swimming methods with both compass and natural navigation. There are many options of search patterns which each have various benefits depending on the facts at that moment. You will also learn how to use lift bags for large or heavy objects as well as other recovery methods. This specialty is applicable for all divers and your understanding of correctly utilizing the information you will receive will be indispensable for your divers.
Sidemount!
Become a more streamlined diver during your dives to explore the underwater world. Forget about
having to walk with a tank on your back and instead find the freedom of simply entering the water,
clipping your tanks and off you go. This course will teach you how to properly assemble and configure
your sidemount equipment, trim your weight system to perfection, manage gases between tanks and
second stages and respond to any potential problems. This course is designed to give you and your
divers more flexibility for your dives..
Self Reliant Diver!
Although it is always recommended to dive with a buddy, there are moments when an experienced
diver may want to develop self-reliance while diving. This Self-Reliant Diver course can make you a
stronger diver in nearly all dive situations. You will learn how to responsibly engage in dives without a buddy which will improve your skills and confidence on any dive. This course includes proper dive
planning with air consumption rate calculations, life support system redundancy, and independent
management of dive emergencies. These are extremely useful skills to have in order to become a better diver overall and to help others to become better divers. You will find yourself using your air
consumption rate calculations on your divers to ensure everyone’s safety on a dive.
Navigation!

Nitrox!
Enriched Air, also known as Nitrox, is a breathing gas that will increase divers bottom time while
reducing nitrogen loading. This allows divers to extend their dives and physically feel better doing so.
This course can be completed in a few hours and will learn why diving with air with a higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content can be beneficial to you. You will practice analyzing your tank’s oxygen content, determine how to set your dive computer for the adjusted gas blend and discuss how to manage oxygen exposure. Help others learn the benefits of diving with Enriched Air by sharing your knowledge of this course with them.
Deep Diver!
Explore the depths of the sea with this exciting specialty course, allowing you to dive up to a maximum
of 40 meters. This course will show you how to use specialized deep diving equipment, plan your dives,
create buddy contact procedure with safety considerations and buoyancy control, as well as manage
your gas supply and deal with gas narcosis. Help your divers safely explore the depths as well with this

02 Provider!
Understanding how and when to use emergency oxygen is a key skill which allows one to be prepared
and ready to assist others should the need arise. Learn how to not only recognize scuba diving illnesses
which may be treatable with emergency oxygen, but to also assemble and disassemble emergency
oxygen equipment, deploy both non-rebreather and demand inhalator valves on a breathing diver as
well as use a pocket mask on a nonbreathing diver. This crucial skill is useful for divers and non-divers
which can make a real difference in an emergency situation.
Imaging!
Learn all about how to capture images on your diving adventures with this fun specialty. You will
discover how to choose the right underwater camera system for you, the PADI SEA method for achieving
great shots quickly, principles of good composition as well as practical techniques to take beautiful
photos with your digital camera. Divers always want to capture the essence from down below, and this
specialty will allow them to do that. The skills you will acquire in this course will help you to share the
fantastic sights from down below with fellow divers, friends and family.

This specialty delves into the science behind the ecology of the aquatic world and its differences to the
terrestrial world, allowing you to become a more engaged diver while underwater. You will gain a new
appreciation for the behaviors of the fish and creatures underwater while also learning more about
responsible interactions with the marine life. You can use this knowledge to spread your passion for our
marine environment to your divers.
Drift!
Oftentimes in life, the best course of action is to simply “go with the flow”. This course delves into how we can apply that in a real life setting during our dives. Drift diving can be both very relaxing as well as exhilarating depending on the specific conditions. This specialty will introduce the use of drift diving equipment while you also practice buoyancy control, navigation, communication and methods to stay close to your buddy. You will also gain an overview of the causes and effects of aquatic currents. The MSDT Program functions to enable instructors to teach more specialty courses, gain more knowledge and experience (and have more fun!) with specific sets of skills, as well as become more of an asset to any future employers. This program on Curacao can be offered as either a single component or as a bundled package together with the IDC Program or Staff Instructor program.
